Well, actually. . . I used to do almost exactly that. I was doing more crochet/jewelry making, but I have a little ex-makeup case with my supplies, and I used to take it places with me so I could string beads, wire wrap or crochet a few more rows while waiting in line or sitting at my desk between calls.
