Sinus infection...

Is kicking my ass.

Went to the ER.  Got two shots, a course of oral antibiotics and a course of steroids.

Gee, what a souvenir of my trip to the desert.  Bleah.

Hey, I've had a zillion sinus infections and they never offered me shots. What do they give you?

They gave me an antibiotic and a steroid. I'd have to look to see what they were, but the antibiotic hurt like a...

It hurt. A LOT.

An injection of antibiotic works faster than orally, so I guess the pain is worth it. If I crawled into the ER in pain, I'd want morphine, then the shot, then a bottle of Scotch for the road. There needs to be correct sequence in these things.

rocephin IM, and from the pain, they didn't mix it with lidocaine like they're supposed to. (either that, or you're a wimp %-)

steroid could have been any one of a number...... i'd need more details to make a guess. IV or IM shot for that?

hope you're feeling better, and make sure you take all of whatever they give you for oral meds, even if you start feeling better.
