Actually, I've had an awesome Christmas.  But with John coming home after Christmas, it's giving me a chance to get some stuff finished/worked up/whatever.  So...I've been busy!




Wow...that's huge.  Sorry!  Anyway...this is a silverware roll.  Mine, in red, is the prototype, and the other two are John and Liam's.  John will be the black and grey, and Liam the gold and black.  Not period at ALL, and I don't care.  I'm SO tired of silverware rolling around and getting banged up.

When it's rolled up, it looks like this:




So, there you have it. I've been having a great time sewing and creating again!

Love the idea; very practical.

You could even, if you're willing to make washable silverware rolls, let them do double time as a placemat at the table.

Oh, you know...I NEVER though about that. And these are totally washable!!!! Hrm....I think you are on to something, lovely lady!

Come to think of it, depending on how you set up the silverware pocketses, you can literally turn it into a placemat with the silverware in the right place as soon as you unroll. I.e. forks on one side, spoons and knives on the other.

But then one side or the other would be less protected, so I'm thinking the one I make will have all the pocketses on the left. Including a pocket for the matches, and one for the candle. And one for the napkin. And ...

Hmmm. My plan is turning into a cloth picnic basket sans plates. Maybe I am getting carried away.
